Almost all Spring 2020 Comm classes will be offering real-time virtual instruction via BlueJeans. If you are in a class that is not using BlueJeans, your instructor will have communicated this to you already.

Powered by BlueJeans, Virtual Meetings can be started and joined via a PC, Mac, smartphone, or regular landline (audio only). Each meeting can accommodate up to 100 participants and supports recording of the meeting and screen/media sharing. Meeting participants using the BlueJeans Desktop App can turn on automated Closed Captions (subtitles) from the Settings tab. Real-time captions appear at the bottom of the participant's Desktop App (may take 4-5 seconds to start). Only the participant who enabled the setting will see the closed captions (does not impact other participants). BlueJeans: All Penn BlueJeans users can turn on live AI-generated captioning for videos they host.
BlueJeans Outage We are aware of an issue with the BlueJeans application that affects both newly scheduled meetings and joining previously scheduled meetings. If you encounter an issue with joining a previously scheduled meeting, BlueJeans recommends using your personal meeting ID as they continue to work on a resolution.
Organizations that prefer to continue using Bluejeans may do so by purchasing individual licenses directly from Bluejeans. Please be aware that individual licenses are different than the enterprise license hosted by ECE ITS. As of March 2020, BlueJeans is available to all students, faculty, and staff. Log in at meeting.upenn.edu to create your account.
BlueJeans is more basic (and many people find it simpler to use). It is easy to navigate and set up. BlueJeans also integrates into Canvas. If you have a nursing account, you have a BlueJeans account. BlueJeans meetings are generally limited to 100 participants.
